At Jordaya Contracting, we are often called in to put things right, and this project was a clear example of why experience and trusted workmanship matter.
A Disrupted Start
We were contacted by a homeowner who had been left in a difficult situation. Works had begun on insulating the property with lime, but the renderer disappeared partway through the job after receiving payment. What was left behind was a patchy application of home-mixed insulated lime that had already started to fail.
Much of the render had to be removed, and the client was understandably frustrated. Our team stepped in to assess the damage and put things back on the right track.

Our Solution
We began by carefully removing the failed render and preparing the walls correctly. Once the surface was ready, we applied Diathonite Evolution, a cork-based insulating render that offers excellent thermal and acoustic performance. It is breathable, environmentally friendly, and ideal for solid wall properties that need to retain their character while improving insulation.
To finish, we applied a VPI through coloured lime render. This gives the home a traditional yet fresh appearance with the added benefit of no future painting required. The finish is durable, natural looking, and perfectly suited to the breathable base layer beneath.
A Successful Result
We were pleased to complete the work for less than the original quote the homeowner had been given by the previous renderer. The house is now not only warm and breathable, but it also has a high-quality finish that will stand the test of time.

This project is a great reminder that cutting corners often costs more in the long run. Choosing experienced, reliable professionals ensures both peace of mind and a result you can be proud of.
