Recent Work: Sustainable Insulation for a Period Property
One of our recent projects involved using Diathonite Eco-Cork Render to enhance the thermal performance of a beautiful listed building. The property's solid stone walls, while full of charm, required a modern approach to improve insulation and energy efficiency.
Our experienced team applied Diathonite to the exterior walls, combining it with a breathable lime finish to ensure the building retained its traditional aesthetic. The result? A comfortable, energy-efficient home that stays true to its original features.
The Benefits of Diathonite Insulation
As a zero-carbon-rated product, Diathonite Eco-Cork Render offers numerous advantages:
- Improved Thermal Performance: Reduces heat loss and lowers energy bills.
- Breathability: Ideal for period properties, preventing issues like damp and condensation.
- Acoustic Insulation: Minimises external noise, creating a quieter living environment.
- Eco-Friendly: Sustainable and environmentally responsible.
We are proud to be recognised as the most experienced Diathonite applicators in the UK, bringing these benefits to our clients across the region.

Diathonite Demo Day
We were approached by our lime supplier who was having a daub/ cob demonstration day. He asked if we could demonstrate the unique properties of Diathonite in conjunction with natural cob buildings. We machine applied Diathonite onto the cob block building and then let the audience trowel it to a finish. They did very well for their first go.
